KORDAN NEWS #2 (12.2009)

1. THE LONGING

The Longing is our first full-length album. The story continues in a hazy metropolis, circa 2036: the sky tuned to a dead channel, the city shines like a neon dream, holograms of lovers glimmer in the rain, and memories of what they could have become.

Influences range from the drugged-out novels of cyberpunks William Gibson and P.K. Dick to the dystopian cityscapes in Akira.

The album will be available for purchase at Amazon MP3, iTunes (USA), eMusic, and Lala in February 2010. However, as a 'thank you' to our earliest fans, you can download the entire the album now. You can also listen now at Last.fm and Bandcamp.

2. KORDAN LIVE

Autumn 2009 saw us having shows with current buzz-band THE DRUMS, playing at CMJ '09, and opening for Swedish legends THE MARY ONETTES across Manhattan and Brooklyn (NYC).

Look out for more shows in New York City and across the US starting late January 2010.

3. MISC

Kordan remixes Zaza
The massive blog RCRD LBL posted an exclusive remix we did for ZAZA's "Arms Length".

Kordan covers The Wake
Download our cover of THE WAKE's "On Our Honeymoon". Our live shows went ballistic over this one. We completely reworked the original, adding dark pads and bass synths. Liz steps up as lead singer on this recording.

Myspace sucks
Friend us on Facebook, listen to us on Bandcamp, and interact with other listeners at Last.FM.

Miscellania within miscellania

* The "Atlantis" collection by Alexander McQueen.
"An apocalyptic forecast of the future ecological meltdown of the world: Humankind is made up of creatures that evolved from the sea, and we may be heading back to an underwater future as the ice cap dissolves."

* "Cannabis Works" by Tatsuyuki Tanaka
"Darkly beautiful scenes of children occupying dingy, dystopic futures, filled with bodily transformations, man-machine interfaces, and cybernetic monsters."

"Food of the Gods" (book) by Terence McKenna
"Life lived in the absence of the psychedelic experience that primordial shamanism is based on is life trivialized, life denied, life enslaved to the ego."

Have safe holidays.

THANK YOU,

Liz | Gabriel | Arthur
